This Beach lies on both sides of the Newport Pier. It is the section of the beach that runs between West Newport Beach and Balboa Pier Beach. The beaches are continuous here so you don’t really notice the transition between them. The paved boardwalk, Newport Balboa Bike Trail, runs throughout these beaches. It is a popular beach with good surfing. In the area near the pier, there are plenty of places to eat and shop. There are also places to rent bikes and surreys, a fun way to travel the bike trail.
The Newport Pier is a long (1,032 foot) wooden fishing pier providing great coastline views. Next to the pier is the Dory Fleet Fish Market which was founded back in 1891. They still sell their fresh catch of the day during the earlier morning hours here.
